Jorge Perez is planning to build new twin towers in Brickell where each tower will stand at 49 stories. The new project will be called Brickell Heights, and it will add 690 new condos in the district. The land was purchased earlier this year for $32M.

Architectonica is reportedly the new designer of Brickell Heights. The towers will be located at 850 Brickell Avenue, right between Brickell CitiCentre and Mary Brickell Village. In addition, future expansions could include a third tower, however the first phases of construction will begin in 2014. Other highlights of the project include a retail space and a parking garage, features that have been standard for numerous Miami condo projects.

Related Group, which is owned by Jorge Perez, is the development firm behind several luxury residential names including SLS Brickell, Baltus House, Marea, Icon Bay, Millecento and more. Other areas covered by the leading development firm include Broward and West Palm Beach. Some of these projects have already been sold out according to several news sources.

Enrique Iglesias has sold his Bayfront Mansion for one of the highest recorded prices in the area. It was purchased for an impressive $6.7M, according to several news sources.

Iglesias, who is a Miami native since1978, purchased the land in 1996 for $640,000. The home was custom built in 1999, where it was also featured on MTV Cribs. EWM Realty/Christie’s International Real Estate and ONE Sotheby’s International Realty LLC. has released a statement confirming the sales price of $1075/SF  - the highest in Bay Pointe’s history.

The home boasts 100 FT of waterfront, a swimming pool, and a private atmosphere, according to the Realtor who sold the home. The home was not listed for sale, and it was purchased to an undisclosed buyer. Some news reports however allege the buyer to be Stephen Zack – an attorney who was recently appointed U.S. Alternate to the United Nations’ General Assembly. Iglesias, according to news reports, will be moving within the same district at a just-built property.

New Miami pre-construction development, 321 Ocean in South Beach broke ground last week. According to The Real Deal, only 20% of the twenty one units being built are now available. The other 80% have been sold. There will be two towers built, in addition to two beach villas where prices will range from $1M to $10M. The towers will include luxe penthouses.

Features of 321 Ocean include large terraces overlooking the ocean, large floor-to-ceiling glass windows that let the natural lights in, an ultra-modernist theme designed by Enrique Norten and more. There will also be a private elevator to each condo, kitchens by Poggenpohl, and bathrooms outfitted with European-imported marble.

The building’s features include a heated beachfront pool, direct access to the beach, a state of the art fitness center, 24-hour concierge and much more.

According to the developer, 321 Ocean will have an important economic impact in the area, particularly in the jobs sector, as several workers will be employed before and following construction. 321 Ocean is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
